MINISTER ASSURES THE COUNTRY OF TIGHT SECURITY AMIDST FEARS
Minister of Homeland Security Zikhale Ng’oma argues that the recent murder cases that have been registered in Lilongwe are not a sign of security lapse in the country.
In a space of five days, unknown people have murdered Allan Witika, Agnes Katengeza, and Jacob Mserokera respectively.
According to Zikhale, the murder of the three is a public issue and not a national security lapse saying people commit crimes because of value differences in any society.
“In any society, people can murder someone, steal and destroy someone’s property but that is not a National security issue,” Ng’oma said.
“National issue goes with percentage or ratio, you can’t say three people against twenty million people then it is a national issue” Ng’oma added.
However, the Minister assured people in the country that investigations into the suspected murder cases are at an advanced stage.
Allan Witika was found in a company car lying lifeless at Area 15 and days later Agnes Katengeza was also found dead in her car at the Mchinji roundabout a few days after going missing.
