DOWA DHO TARGETS 10,000 PEOPLE IN A COVID-19 VACCINATION CAMPAIGN

The public relations officer for Dowa District Hospital David Nuka, has reiterated the need for people in the district to get covid-19 vaccine.

The plea comes as the hospital is expected to embark on a 6-day COVID-19 vaccination campaign, targeting 10,000 people in the district.

According to Nuka, despite having no covid 19 cases in the district, prevention is better than cure and people need to follow measures to prevent further spread of COVID-19.

“The campaign is targeting Dowa district Hospital, Chezi, Mtengowanthenga, Dzaleka, Bowe, and Wandikweza health centers,” Nuka added.

“As of now we only have Johnson and Johnson which is for those who are 18 years old and above and we encourage front liners like HSA’s and nurses to get the vaccine since they are the ones who often meet people,” He Nuka.

Nuka said this is a door-to-door campaign that will end on Saturday and has commenced on a good note.
